		<description>My guess is that if you were exposed to vacuum, you&#039;d have no choice about farting. That gas is going to find the path of least resistance out of your body, which, luckily enough, is through your anus. 

However, I wouldn&#039;t worry about flying off into space out of control, as the velocity of your flatus will be more than offset by the velocity of the air leaving your lungs. So, you&#039;d likely go into a relatively slow, stable spin about a horizontal axis passing through your center of gravity, rather like &lt;a href=&quot;http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aeolipile&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;Hero&#039;s aeolipile&lt;/a&gt;.

Now I&#039;m not a physicist, so I&#039;m probably wrong, but is an amusing image to conjure.</description>
